The ways in which I attracted and addressed my target audience was through choosing a style that suited to them with the content that they stereotypically prefer. For my final products I did this by having the content of the latest bands that the target audience are associated with. With the other main aspect of attracting the target audience being the visual style, this is why I choose to keep it simple and professional looking with the black and white images, linear structured layout and also the tasteful, simple yet effective black, white and red. Additionally I used another technique to attract the target audience. This was using a word that is associated with music as the name of my magazine. I did this because when looking through many music magazines they seemed to lose the point that they’re a music magazine and became a normal magazine, this is why I chose to enforce this through the title. In my opinion the main reason why someone in my target audience would like to be associated with my magazine is due to it possessing a professional and having the content preferred, thus resulting in a sophisticated feel.

As the target audience is of my own social grouping I frequently asked for feedback on what is preferred, resulting in the best possible outcome for my final product. I received feedback such as:

“Use colour on the character in the double page spread, keeping a black and white background as it appeals more to me”.
